These are uncirculated coins of 2011 and come in the original plastic tubes from the Mint, or in a plastic sheath when you order less than 20 coins. These have a higher numismatic value than generic bullion rounds because they are legal U.S. Tender and are minted in limited numbers each year.

Design Features

The design for the Silver American Eagle was borrowed from an older American coin, the "Walking Liberty" half-dollar. Renowned for their beauty, Walking Liberty Half-Dollars are widely considered to be one of the United States' most attractive silver coin.

The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, depicts a heraldic eagle with shield carrying an olive branch and arrows in its talons. An inverse pyramid of thirteen stars representing the thirteen original colonies floats above its head. The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ' 1 OZ. FINE SILVER ~ ONE DOLLAR '" encircle the eagle.
